Falling into Humility…

Micah 6:8 says…

And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

It’s funny because I think many feel that having humility and being merciful is synonymous with weakness.  But I don’t think that is the case.  I think that true humility brings much strength and wisdom.  Our biggest example Who reflects this so amazingly is Jesus Himself.  It’s not speaking about your humility that reflects your “humbleness” but in turn acting it out. Jesus walked humbly and mercifully and is the very representation of strength and power! He did not need to reveal it to anyone because he simply was and is! Humility at its best… it is behaving modestly and politely submissive. It is the opposite of aggression, arrogance, pride, and vanity. It can even appear to strip power from the individual who possesses it. But the truth is….when you know that you are nothing and that God is everything, that my friends can set us all free!

“Humility is perfect quietness of heart. It is to expect nothing, to wonder at nothing that is done to me, to feel nothing done against me. It is to be at rest when nobody praises me, and when I am blamed or despised. It is to have a blessed home in the Lord, where I can go in and shut the door, and kneel to my Father in secret, and am at peace as in a deep sea of calmness, when all around and above is trouble.”

I love that! ….perfect quietness of heart”

You may feel your world or this whole world is crashing down and everything feels cray cray, but you can come to a place of sweet peace and “quietness of heart”, by trusting the One who made you.

Isaiah 26:3  “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

None of us have arrived nor will we ever be perfect, we are by nature, selfish.  True story!  But if we ALL will humble ourselves and are kind, it can change the world.  Just start in your own circle and that circle will be one larger and more contagious.  I want to be a world changer, don’t you?!  It starts with small things.  I’m ready, are you???  Let’s do this thing!

God Bless your sweet souls!
