True story…
The greatest story ever told. One that is as non-fiction as they come. The deep truth of Christ’s birth and what He came to do is truly the greatest of the ages. It encompasses the heart of every existence and experience.
When I set out to write this blog for December, I purposed to do it on stories and all parts of it. The characters, the plot, the setting and all of the many pieces and how they mirror our individual lives. And as I wrote and worked, it just fell flat. Flatter than flat. No life to it. And when that happens, I know and realize, this is not what God has for this blog. It was time for a rewind.
So I started from scratch…
And though it is short, it will certainly be sweet. Because you see, it’s not about our stories. It is and always has been about His.
We each carry a story. And every story is a reflection of who we are. Each tale of our lives has a truth tucked inside. So what is your truth? That’s pivotal isn’t it?
Whether it’s the one you live or the one you tell, we all have a tale. If your life could tell the story of your heart, what would it say? What theme would be laced throughout? And most importantly, who is your main character?
Funny story…
When Jared, our precious son, was little, we were playing with him and he told us that he was the main character in our family. It was so endearing as it revealed to me that he felt so deeply loved and treasured by us which is exactly how it should be. And though it was so true, my mom so lovingly reminded him by saying…yes, you are so loved and so wonderfully important but Jesus is the main character. Always.
That is the simple message this December. Jesus is the main character. Your story is a reality because of His story. It’s one for the ages. A beautiful sacrificial real life tale of a glorious God sending His only precious Son to be born, to live on earth and ultimately die for each of us. No greater mission.
The Reason for the season…
So as we celebrate Christmas and all of its beauty, let’s always remember the true story of each heart. Remembering Who He is, what He’s done and what He continues to do.
Savior, Lord and KING! I will always hasten to His throne.
Merry Christmas!
